The Ancient Ones - Ammonite Fossil and Filigree Pendant

The Ancient Ones - Ammonite Fossil and Filigree Pendant

"The Old Ones were, the Old Ones are, and the Old Ones shall be. Not in the spaces we know, but between them. They walk serene and primal, undimensioned and to us unseen.” - H. P. Lovecraft

The Ammonite is an prehistoric mollusk, the ancient ancestor of the nautilus, octopus, and squid... It's Greek name is "ammonis cornua," for the spiral shape of their shells resembled the coiled horns of a ram, like those which adorned the ancient Egyptian sun god Ammon.

Each is relic of ages past, an aeon-forged treasure from another time and another world. Their rough outer shells have been polished away to reveal the beautiful fractal design of their internal architecture. Each is uniquely bound in wirework and antique filigree, which echoes the structure of the fossil in twists and flourishes, extending like phantom tentacles.
