Erzulie, the Lady of Love -- Voodoo Veve Talisman

Erzulie, the Lady of Love -- Voodoo Veve Talisman

26.00

In her light aspect, Erzulie revels in all things sweet and beautiful: song and dance, jewelry and flowers, and all manner of luxuries. In Catholic iconography she is associated with the Virgin and Child. In her darker aspect, she is associated with the scarred and lamenting Black Madonna. She is an emotional spirit, representing both joys and pains of love, and offers compassion in times of heartbreak. She is a fierce protector of women and children.

The veve design is a name-sigil, used to call upon the “Loa,” the Voodoo equivalents of a Saints or an Angels, the spirit-ambassadors between god and mankind. The veve is traditionally drawn on the ground in cornmeal or gunpowder, and often adorned with the Loa's favorite offerings or sacrifices.
